Presenters to the Alderman's "community" zoning committee often feel that the Alderman and his honchos deserve compensation for their time and careful consideration.

Labeling an agenda item as "for further discussion" is a hedge, a technique for discouraging citizen participation in our community. It SEEMS to imply that no action is to be taken this month.
