'Veil of secrecy' surrounds Stroger
Daily Southtown--Cook County Board President John Stroger apparently remained hospitalized Wednesday, a week after being rushed from his downtown condo with an infection.
Details of Stroger's condition are sketchier than ever, as his son, Chicago Ald. Todd Stroger (8th), pushed through a crowd of reporters and refused to provide details as he left a city council budget committee hearing Wednesday morning.
Asked when his father would be released, Stroger said, "If I knew, I probably wouldn't tell you, but I don't know." More...
